TERRIFIC TRIO

Aylah Cornwall, Gonzaga Prep — If you hadn’t heard the name before this week’s action at the Tacoma Dome, you have now. The Bullpups’ freshman is playing beyond her years and has Gonzaga Prep in the 4A state championship game after posting a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double in the win over Davis. Shot a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line, too.

Addison Harris, Camas — The forward is the engine of a Papermakers team on a squad full of playmakers and knockdown shooters. Against Sumner, had a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double, shooting 10-of-16 from the field. Also had four steals.

Olivia Collins, Sumner — A quick shot release and all the confidence in the world. What’s not to like about this Sumner sophomore? She poured in 24 points in Sumner’s loss to Camas and shot 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. Also had eight rebounds and an assist.

QUOTABLE

Addison Harris, Camas: “They kind of got us back on our heels in the first half. We were able to come back from that, just wanting it more.”

Aylah Cornwall, Gonzaga Prep: “We just play our hearts out, all the time. We play for each other.”
