Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Oct. 14 to 19)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week for contests played between Oct. 14 to 19. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winners are:

Bryson Allen, Franklin Pierce football and Addy Conner, North Thurston volleyball

Allen posted the first 200-yard rushing performance of his career, handling 11 carries for 225 yards and three touchdowns in Franklin Pierce’s 58-16 win over Fife. Conner, an outside hitter, tallied 14 kills, 15 digs, and a block in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Silas.

FOOTBALL

Bryson Allen, Franklin Pierce — Cardinals RB posted the first 200-yard game of his career, handling 11 carries for 225 yards and three touchdowns in Franklin Pierce’s 58-16 win over Fife.

Brock Armstrong, Orting — Cardinals RB took 10 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown in Orting’s 57-18 win over Clover Park.

Kase Betz, Graham-Kapowsin — Eagles WR took four receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown in 34-0 win at Olympia.

Tate Bowen, White River — Hornets WR exploded for seven receptions, 169 yards, and two touchdowns in big win over Kent-Meridian.

Louis Chevalier, Enumclaw — Hornets RB took 10 carries for 99 yards and two touchdowns in 49-0 win over Auburn Mountainview.

DJ Darling, Gig Harbor — Caught eight passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in loss to Mount Tahoma.

Peyton Davis, Tumwater — T-Birds RB took four carries for 118 yards and two touchdowns in Tumwater’s 55-0 win over Aberdeen.

Cole Fowler, Eatonville — Cruisers QB completed 24-of-41 passes for 407 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception in Eatonville’s 45-40 loss to Washington. He rushed once for three yards.

Kyson Douglas, Puyallup — Vikings RB erupted for 91 yards and four touchdowns on nine carries in Puyallup’s big win over Rogers. Also had a 70-yard touchdown catch.

Kai’Lee Hale, Washington — Senior WR did a little of everything, passing for a 38-yard touchdown, rushing once for 31 yards and also had an 18-yard receiving touchdown in 45-40 win over Eatonville.

Riley Hill, Eatonville — Cruisers WR secured six receptions for 111 yards and three touchdowns in 45-40 loss to Washington.

Indiana Jones, Kennedy Catholic — All-purpose playmaker became Saturday’s workhorse RB, handling 28 carries for 168 yards and four touchdowns in Kennedy Catholic’s 42-20 win over Stadium. Also led the team in tackles with five.

Sione Kaho, Lincoln — Abes QB completed 18-of-25 passes for 280 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in 41-10 win over Bellarmine Prep, routinely delivering high-level, must-have throws on third and fourth down.

Antoine Lee, Kentwood — Conquerors running back rushed for 308 yards and five touchdowns on 34 carries in shootout win over Auburn.

Drew Macdonald, Steilacoom — Senior quarterback completed 15-of-21 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 67 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries in win over Foss.

Will Maxwell, Sumner — Spartans’ defensive end had seven tackles, including four sacks and two tackles for loss in win over Curtis.

Carson McCall, Orting — All-purpose RB handled four carries for 54 yards and a touchdown, adding a 27-yard touchdown catch in Orting’s big win over Clover Park.

Exavier McChristian, Lakes — Lancers WR secured two receptions for 72 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown catch in big win over Timberline.

Toetu Moliga, Lakes — Lancers RB paced Lakes in rushing with three carries for 61 yards and a touchdown in runaway win over Timberline.

Willie Nash, Lakes — Lancers QB completed all seven of his passes for 113 yards and four touchdowns in a rout of Timberline, 67-3.

Blake Ostrander, Capital — Rushed 27 times for 197 yards and two touchdowns in win over North Thurston.

Luke Parker, Puyallup — Vikings QB completed 12-of-14 passes for 338 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions in big win over Rogers, 62-12.

Mekhi Richardson, Tumwater — T-Birds DL tackled 10 (three TFL) with two sacks in big win over Aberdeen.

Ethan Rodriguez, Rochester — Rushed 20 times for 188 yards and two touchdowns in 16-12 win over Montesano.

Leland Sulusi, Washington — Senior running back rushed 19 times for 162 yards and two touchdowns in win over Eatonville. Also caught three passes for 25 yards.

Darius Sum, Stadium — The state’s leading rusher posted another big number against a legitimate 4A state contender, taking 23 carries for 175 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 42-20 loss at Kennedy Catholic.

Kanoa Teplasy, Lincoln — Abes WR/DB took six catches for 123 yards and a touchdown in big win over Bellarmine Prep, adding an interception on defense.

Junior Teregeyo, Franklin Pierce — Cardinals RB handled a team-high 12 carries for 51 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday’s big win over Fife.

Angel Urban, Mount Tahoma — T-Birds WR took three catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns in 37-23 win over Gig Harbor.

Tristan Waterman, White River — Hornets QB completed 13-of-17 passes for 256 yards and four touchdowns (no interceptions) in 45-7 rout of Kent-Meridian.

Lucas Whitehall-Gilkes, Auburn — Caught 14 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown in 46-44 loss to Kentwood.

Andrew Wold, Auburn Riverside — Completed 6-of-10 passes for 208 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in win over Kentridge. He added 131 yards and another three touchdowns on four carries.

Derek Wood, Eatonville — All five of the linebacker’s tackles went for a loss in 45-40 defeat to Washington.

Jayden Woodland, Puyallup — Vikings WR grabbed three receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns in big win over Rogers.

FALL SPORTS

Marley Alefaio, Lakes volleyball — The state’s co-leader in blocks had 17 kills, 16 kills, three blocks and an ace in 3-1 loss to Spanaway Lake, plus 12 kills, 14 digs, three blocks and an ace in 3-0 win over Gig Harbor.

Alyce Chappelle, Rogers soccer — Had three goals in 5-0 win over Emerald Ridge on Tuesday.

Addy Conner, North Thurston volleyball — Junior outside hitter tallied 14 kills, 15 digs, and a block in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Silas.

Julia Couch, Auburn Riverside cross country — Senior ran (and won) Wednesday’s 5K at Auburn Mountainview in 18:13.3, good for the 27th fastest time in WA this season.

Layne Dent, Cascade Christian volleyball — Senior outside hitter had 19 kills and 12 digs in win over Life Christian and 14 kills and 12 digs in win over Seattle Christian.

Sienna Hanson, Puyallup volleyball — Junior had 16 kills in sweep over Rogers on Thursday.

Karin Heikkila, Gig Harbor soccer — Had a goal and three assists in win over Mount Tahoma and a goal and two assists in win over Central Kitsap.

Elizabeth Hayes, Gig Harbor soccer — Had three goals and an assist in wins over Mount Tahoma and Central Kitsap.

Olivia Sides, Tahoma soccer — Senior center back helped the Bears post defensive shutouts in wins over Stadium and Mount Rainier, bringing Tahoma up to nine clean sheets this season.

Kinley Smith, Timberline volleyball — Had 17 kills in four-set win over Lincoln on Wednesday.

Sierra Wallace, Kentridge soccer — Scored a goal and tallied an assist in 4-1 win over Auburn Riverside on Tuesday.
