Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for contests played between Dec. 16 to 21. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.
This week’s winner is:
Brandi Stanford, River Ridge girls basketball
Stanford, a junior point guard, dropped 33 points with four steals and three rebounds in win over Lakes, then had 26 points with seven rebounds and seven steals in 51-41 win over Peninsula.

Darius Alexander, Spanaway Lake boys basketball — Junior guard tallied 17 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and five steals in 64-46 win over Bethel.
Javon Barbee, Franklin Pierce boys basketball — Senior point guard dropped 36 points (14-21 FG) with 12 rebounds, seven steals, three assists and a block in Thursday’s win over Foss.
Olivia Collins, Sumner girls basketball — Junior guard averaged 19 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists across two wins over Emerald Ridge and Bethel.
Shayla Cordis, North Thurston girls basketball — Junior guard posted 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in 83-17 win over Timberline.
Kyla Frazier, Bellarmine Prep girls basketball — Sophomore forward dropped 33 points, seven rebounds and five steals in win over Lincoln, then had 20 points with five steals in win over Gig Harbor.
Jamian Lewis, Bonney Lake boys basketball — Senior shooting guard dropped 27 points in 68-61 win over Graham-Kapowsin.
Ehmarii Mcchristian, Lakes girls basketball — Posted double-digits in all three games last week, a loss to River Ridge (15 points, five rebounds, five steals, two assists), win over Clover Park (20 points, seven rebounds, two blocks), and win over Timberline (19 points, 10 rebounds, six steals, four assists).
Abby Mesler, Sound Christian girls basketball — Junior guard had 27 points with seven rebounds, three assists and five steals in win over Evergreen Lutheran.
Soraya Ogaldez, North Thurston girls basketball — Senior dropped 31 points (14-18 FG) on 78 percent shooting with three rebounds, three assists and six steals in win over Timberline.
Samara Oliver, Lakes girls basketball — Senior guard posted 25-point, 12-rebound double-double with three steals and two assists in win over Timberline.
Grace Richardson, Peninsula girls basketball — Senior guard posted 13-point, 11-rebound double-double with five assists and four steals in loss to River Ridge, then dropped 23 points with nine rebounds, seven assists, four steals and four blocks in win over Timberline.
Makai Resseau, Sound Christian boys basketball — Senior point guard averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and two steals across four games (all wins) last week.

Treyshawn Weatherspoon, Rogers boys basketball — Senior guard dropped 24 points with seven assists and six steals in win over South Kitsap, then tallied 27 points with seven assists and six steals in win over Graham-Kapowsin.
Terrence Whiting, Todd Beamer boys basketball — Senior guard posted 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals in win over Thomas Jefferson, then dropped 26 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals in win over Lindbergh.
