Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for contests played between Jan. 6-11. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Brandi Stanford, River Ridge girls basketball

River Ridge’s junior point guard had 12 points, five rebounds, and five steals a in loss to North Thurston, hitting the 1,000 career point mark in the game. She then dropped 20 points with nine steals and six rebounds in a win over Central Kitsap.

Shayla Cordis, North Thurston girls basketball — Junior wing scored 21 points with six steals in win over River Ridge, then had 20 points with five steals in win over Silas.

Kyla Frazier, Bellarmine Prep girls basketball — Sophomore forward scored 22 points with eight rebounds in win over Silas, then had 16 points with nine rebounds in win over Peninsula.

Janelle Krise, Shelton girls basketball — Scored 24 points, had 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals in win over Black Hills on Tuesday and 21 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks in win over Aberdeen on Thursday.

Hailey Hall, Eatonville girls basketball — Had a double-double in a win over Fife with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Abby Mesler, Sound Christian girls basketball — Junior guard dropped 25 points with seven steals and four assists in loss to Auburn Adventist, then had 16 points, four steals, and four assists in loss to Orcas Island.

Soraya Ogaldez, North Thurston girls basketball — Senior guard dropped season-high 35 points (16-29 FG) with eight assists and eight steals in win over Silas.

Ariana Vaeao, Fife girls basketball — Junior forward had a double-double with 14 points and 19 rebounds, along with five steals, in loss to Eatonville.

Cedar Wily, Shelton girls basketball — Had 28 points, 21 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in win over Black Hills on Tuesday and 17 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in win over Aberdeen on Thursday.
