Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (March 10 to 15)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for contests played between March 10-15. Voting will remain open until noon Wednesday.

Vivien Sweet, Peninsula softball

The sophomore went 3-for-3 (three runs) with an RBI double in Thursday’s 19-8 win over Bellarmine Prep.

Ava Bautista, Olympia softball — Dual-threat senior homered twice (3-for-4) with four RBI and a double, adding six strong innings in the circle (1 ER) with no walks and five strikeouts in Olympia’s 12-2 win over Tumwater.

Kaitlin Christiansen, Fife softball — Sophomore shortstop went 3-for-3 with three runs scored in Friday’s 9-8 win over White River.

Paige Guyer, North Thurston softball — Sophomore threw a one-run complete game in Friday’s win over Rainier, allowing just two hits with seven walks and nine strikeouts. Guyer went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run and two RBI.

Nevaeh Haagen, Timberline softball — Blazers sophomore went 4-for-4 with a three-run, inside-the-park home run and seven RBI in Friday’s 20-1 win over Lakes. Haagen tossed a five-inning complete game with no walks and 11 strikeouts, allowing one earned run on three hits.

Alyssa Harris, Enumclaw softball — Senior twirled 6 ⅔ strong innings in Friday’s 3-1 win over Lake Stevens, surrendering four hits and one earned run with no walks and nine strikeouts.

Lily Hart, Stadium softball — Junior tossed four shutout innings in 13-3 win over Cascade Christian, allowing two hits with four walks and eight strikeouts. Hart went 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI single in the first inning.

Mia Heigh, Auburn Mountainview softball — Senior catcher notched a perfect 1.000 batting average last week, going 5-for-5 with five RBI, five runs, and two walks in loss to Garfield and win over Bonney Lake.

Paisley Jamison, Puyallup softball — Senior reached in all five plate appearances in Wednesday’s win over Lake Washington, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and three walks.

London Kim, Stadium softball — Tigers junior went 4-for-4 (all extra-base hits) and finished a single shy of the cycle with a solo home run, two triples, and a double in Stadium’s 13-3 win over Cascade Christian.

Sierra Murray, Rogers softball — Freshman pitcher struck out 14 batters across a complete game over Tahoma, 6-2. Murray allowed just two hits (five walks) to go the distance in her first-career high-school start.

Ary’anna Payne, Silas softball — Senior infielder went 5-for-5 with six RBI and two stolen bases, including the go-ahead grand slam in Wednesday’s win over Curtis, 25-15.

Brooklyn Pettit, Graham-Kapowsin softball — Eagles freshman went 3-for-5 with four RBI, a home run, and double in Thursday’s 16-7 win over Auburn Riverside, then tossed 4 ⅔ solid innings (4 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 8 K) in Friday’s 5-4 loss to Mount Si.

Alexa Ramirez, Tahoma softball — Sophomore right-hander went the distance in Friday’s 3-2 win over Lake Stevens, allowing three hits and two runs (none earned) with two walks and 11 strikeouts.

Maddie Speir, Bonney Lake softball — Freshman infielder went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday’s 17-7 win over Enumclaw.

Vivien Sweet, Peninsula softball — Sophomore went 3-for-3 (three runs) with an RBI double in Thursday’s 19-8 win over Bellarmine Prep.

Alanna Wirtala, Emerald Ridge softball — Senior right-hander threw two shutout innings (0 BB, 3 K) and went 2-for-2 with five RBI, two doubles, and a walk at the plate in 31-2 win over Federal Way.
