Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (March 24 to 29)

Izzy Cortez, Steilacoom softball

Cortez drove in six runs on two hits in a 31-5 win over Clover Park on Thursday.

Ava Bautista, Olympia softball — Went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in 11-0 win over Bethel on Friday.

Dani Biehl, Gig Harbor softball — Went 3-for-4 with an RBI in 7-1 win over Stadium on Tuesday.

Danica Butler, Auburn Riverside softball — Went 2-for-2 and drove in three runs in 18-0 win over Auburn on Thursday.

Gracie Carey, Gig Harbor softball — Collected a pair of hits and drove in three runs in 20-4 win over Silas on Thursday.

Kaitlin Christiansen, Fife softball — Sophomore shortstop reached (and scored) safely in all nine plate appearances across two wins over Clover Park and Foss, going a combined 3-for-3 with six walks and nine runs.

Aliyah Congdon-Snyder, Yelm softball — Leadoff hitter went 3-for-5 with a run scored in 12-7 win over Bonney Lake on Friday.

Izzy Cortez, Steilacoom softball — Drove in six runs on two hits in 31-5 win over Clover Park on Thursday.

Ashlyn Elder, Enumclaw softball — Went 4-for-4 with three RBI in 16-4 win over White River on Tuesday.

Kate Erickson, Stadium softball — Drove in five runs on four hits in 17-7 win over Kennedy Catholic on Thursday.

Mia Hammington, Tahoma softball — Hit three home runs and drove in seven runs total in 20-2 win over Kentwood on Thursday.

Jessika Jennings, Graham-Kapowsin softball — Struck out 13 batters over seven innings, allowing just two hits, walking five and surrendering no runs in 6-0 win over Olympia on Monday.

Natalie Korschinowski, Sumner softball — Had three hits in three at bats in 14-2 win over Curtis on Friday.

Meeghan Meagher, Federal Way softball — Hit two home runs and drove in three runs in 18-2 win over Todd Beamer on Monday.

Izzy Michaels, Peninsula softball — Went 3-for-4 with a walk and four RBI in 27-0 win over Lakes on Friday.

Sierra Murray, Rogers softball — Dominated in 2-1 win over Emerald Ridge, pitching a seven-inning complete game, allowing two hits, a run (none earned), walking three and striking out 13 batters.

Sophia Payne, Fife softball — Senior second baseman doubled twice in Tuesday’s 27-1 win over Clover Park, going 3-for-5 with four runs and four RBI.

Kennedy Selander, White River softball — Collected three hits in three at bats in 16-4 loss to Enumclaw on Tuesday.

Kahea Sharpe, Decatur softball — Drove in six runs on three hits in 26-0 win over Kent-Meridian on Monday.

Kiley Sledge, Franklin Pierce softball — Sophomore P/INF threw a 6.2-inning shutout with 14 strikeouts and homered twice in Thursday’s 10-1 win over Washington.

Jenny Tuivaiave, Puyallup softball — Drove in four runs on two hits in 22-4 win over Curtis on Thursday.

Alanna Wirtala, Emerald Ridge softball — In 2-1 loss to Rogers, pitched six innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs, walking three and striking out 11.
