Longtime Puyallup High School baseball coach Marc Wiese retiring
Longtime Puyallup High School baseball coach Marc Wiese is retiring after 30 seasons coaching the Vikings. Wiese built Puyallup into a state powerhouse in Washington, winning 18 consecutive league titles and a pair of state championships in 2014 and 2017.
The news was first reported by SBLive’s Todd Milles, who also reported that Wiese is retiring from his teaching position with the Puyallup School District. The news was confirmed by The News Tribune.
Puyallup was 28-0 this season and advanced to the Class 4A state tournament semifinals in Yakima before losing to eventual champion Lake Washington, 8-1. Puyallup advanced to the 4A state tournament 16 times in a row.
Wiese is also the founder and owner of New Level 360, a training facility in Puyallup that fields travel youth baseball teams.
