Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (Sept. 8 to 13)
Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for contests played between Sept. 8-13. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.
This week’s winner is:
Harper Curnutt, Auburn Riverside soccer
The senior midfielder netted three goals in a 3-2 win over Battle Ground on Tuesday and had the game-winning goal in the 79th minute in a 1-0 win over South Kitsap on Wednesday.

Katen Burkart, Tenino volleyball — Against Shelton, had 14 kills, two tips, 11 digs, an ace and a 77 percent service line.
Braelyn Carey, Lakes soccer — Senior striker scored five goals in Tuesday’s 5-0 win over Spanaway Lake.
Brielle Clark, Tumwater soccer — Sophomore forward scored twice in Tuesday’s 5-0 win over Onalaska.
Addy Conner, North Thurston volleyball — In three games (three wins), the senior outside hitter tallied 60 total kills, 22 digs, two blocks, and one ace over Olympia, Capital, and Peninsula.

Jordyn Daigle, White River soccer — Senior forward scored two goals in 8-0 win over Todd Beamer and two goals against Bonney Lake, increasing her season total to five goals so far.
Jada Foster, Sumner volleyball — In three wins over Auburn Riverside, Fife, and Kentridge, the junior outside hitter totaled 44 kills and 12 digs.
Ashley Gallagher, Steilacoom soccer — Sophomore striker scored twice in Thursday’s 8-0 win over Clover Park.
Karin Heikkila, Gig Harbor soccer — Senior forward tallied three goals and three assists in 10-0 win vs. North Thurston on Thursday.
Elle Hoefer, Auburn Mountainview soccer — Senior defender played a key part in team’s tie against Thomas Jefferson, helped the Lions earn a clean sheet and scored two goals in win over Kent-Meridian.
Natalie Jarmin, Black Hills soccer — Freshman midfielder scored two goals in win over Rochester on Monday and two goals in win over Capital on Saturday.
Leah Kalal, Stadium soccer — Senior forward scored one and assisted two in 4-1 win over Bellarmine Prep on Tuesday and scored twice with an assist in 3-0 win over Auburn on Thursday to help Stadium to a 2-0 start.
Bryn Kastberg, Sumner volleyball — In three wins over Auburn Riverside, Fife, and Kentridge, the freshman outside hitter tallied 44 total kills, eight aces, and 35 digs in 13 sets.
Sydney Lingenbrink, Central Kitsap volleyball — Junior middle blocker was a key player for the Cougars in 3-0 wins over Silas and Bellarmine, tallying 17 kills, three blocks and four aces.
Alivia Pena Arteaga, Franklin Pierce soccer — Sophomore striker scored three goals in 8-0 win over Mount Tahoma on Tuesday.
Nadia Schwab, Gig Harbor soccer — Sophomore forward had two goals and two assists in Thursday’s 10-0 win over North Thurston.
Sage Sturrock, Gig Harbor soccer — Senior midfielder scored twice in 10-0 win over North Thurston on Thursday.
Taylor Sullivan, Gig Harbor soccer — Sophomore midfielder had two goals in 10-0 win over North Thurston on Thursday.
Sini Unga, Franklin Pierce soccer — Freshman striker scored two goals in 8-0 win over Mount Tahoma on Thursday.
Hannah Van Dusen, Steilacoom soccer — Freshman striker notched a hat trick (three goals) in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Kingston, then had two goals in 8-0 win vs. Clover Park on Thursday.
Jenica Walling, Cascade Christian volleyball — Senior outside hitter tallied 14 kills and 12 digs in Monday’s 3-0 win over Rogers, then had 17 kills and 21 digs in Wednesday’s 3-0 loss to Puyallup.
