Winner of The News Tribune’s Boys Athlete of the Week (Oct. 27 to Nov. 1)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Boys Athlete of the Week for contests played between Oct. 27-Nov. 1. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Ray Palmer, White River football

The Hornets RB scored the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter of Friday’s 21-14 rivalry win over Enumclaw, helping claim the 3A North Puget Sound League title. Palmer had 10 carries for 38 yards and two touchdowns, adding five tackles and a pass deflection on defense.

Bryson Allen, Franklin Pierce football — Cardinals RB rushed for 266 yards, four touchdowns, and three two-point conversions on 13 carries (20.5 YPC), adding 13 tackles (2 TFL) on defense in Friday’s 51-0 win over Washington.

Briytan Bailey, Puyallup football — Vikings RB took 35 carries for 168 yards and two touchdowns, adding two catches for 28 yards to help win the 4A SPSL title in Friday’s 43-14 win over Graham-Kapowsin.

Carson Barnett, Rogers football — Rams WR had seven catches for 148 yards and a touchdown in Thursday’s 48-41 loss to Spanaway Lake.

Rashard Boone, Rogers football — Rams QB totaled five touchdowns in Thursday’s 48-41 loss to Spanaway Lake. Boone completed 28-of-46 passes for 334 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions, adding nine carries for eight yards and a fifth score on the ground.

Jabez Boyd, Life Christian football — Eagles QB totaled six touchdowns to help win Saturday’s 1A Nisqually title over Cascade Christian, 44-38. Boyd completed 18-of-22 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns, adding 15 carries for 236 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Malik Burns, Spanaway Lake football — Sentinels WR had five receptions for 199 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in Thursday’s 48-41 win over Rogers.

Tayven Collins, Cascade Christian football — Cougars junior completed 8-of-14 passes for 132 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, rushed for 204 yards and a touchdown with a two-point conversion on 13 carries, tackled nine on defense, and added 112 kickoff return yards in Saturday’s 44-38 loss to Life Christian Academy.

Ibrahima Diallo, Olympia football — Bears RB had 14 carries for 60 yards, adding a 14-yard touchdown catch in Friday’s 27-0 win over South Kitsap.

Felix Diaz, Mount Tahoma football — T-Birds RB took 10 carries for 138 yards and two touchdowns, helping capture the 3A Puget Sound League title in Friday’s 28-7 win over Lakes.

Adonai Garza, Kent-Meridian football — Royals RB took seven carries for 44 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 44-8 win over Kentlake.

Jayce Halasz, Graham-Kapowsin football — Eagles WR had four catches for 126 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s 43-14 loss to Puyallup.

Jaleo Johnson, Steilacoom football — Sentinels WR became the first receiver statewide to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark, securing 10 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown in Thursday’s 40-22 win over Fife.

Titus Kaeka, Steilacoom football — Sentinels QB totaled five touchdowns in Thursday’s 40-22 win over Fife. Kaeka completed 21-of-32 passes for 244 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception, adding five carries for 28 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Wyatt Kolbas, Central Kitsap football — Cougars QB completed 9-of-12 passes for 166 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in Thursday’s 48-0 win over North Thurston.

Lawson Looker, Puyallup football — Vikings WR had a team-high four receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown, helping win the 4A SPSL title in Friday’s 43-14 win over Graham-Kapowsin.

Jericho Martin, Spanaway Lake football — Sentinels QB completed 16-of-22 passes for 358 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception in Thursday’s 48-41 win over Rogers, adding one carry for five yards.

Carson McCall, Orting football — Senior RB took 12 carries for 134 yards and three touchdowns in Thursday’s 49-10 win over Eatonville, helping capture Orting’s first 2A SPSL title since 2006.

Lance McGee, Sumner football — Spartans RB took eight carries for 171 yards and three touchdowns in the first half of Thursday’s 49-0 win over Bethel.

Israel Nabors, Sumner football — Spartans RB had 11 carries for 121 yards and a touchdown in Thursday’s 49-0 win over Bethel.

Michael Pulalasi, Puyallup football — Vikings LB tackled eight (3 TFL) with two sacks, helping win the 4A SPSL title in Friday’s 43-14 win over Graham-Kapowsin.

Ray Rondon, Federal Way football — Eagles RB took 20 carries for 181 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 54-6 win over Thomas Jefferson.

Caleb Rubin, Kentwood football — Conquerors RB/LB had three receptions for 73 yards and two touchdowns, adding two tackles on defense in Friday’s 48-14 win over Kentridge.

Jadeon Scranton, Lincoln football — Abes RB took 16 carries for 188 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in Friday’s 48-15 win over Timberline.

Israel Shrode, Orting football — Cardinals RB had three carries for 37 yards, two receptions for 45 yards, and an interception on defense in Thursday’s 49-10 win over Eatonville, helping capture Orting’s first 2A SPSL title since 2006.

Larry Williams III, Central Kitsap football — Cougars WR had four catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns, adding two carries for 48 yards in Thursday’s 48-0 win over North Thurston.

Jayden Woodland, Puyallup football — Vikings WR had three catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns, helping win the 4A SPSL title in Friday’s 43-14 win over Graham-Kapowsin.
