Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (Jan. 19 to 24)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for contests played between Jan. 19-24. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Willow Bonnici, Gig Harbor basketball

The junior forward posted three straight double-doubles in three wins. In win over Bishop Blanchet, scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds. In win over River Ridge, had 12 points and 15 rebounds and in win over Lincoln, had 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Willow Bonnici, Gig Harbor basketball — Posted three straight double-doubles in three wins. In win over Bishop Blanchet, scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds. In win over River Ridge, had 12 points and 15 rebounds and in win over Lincoln, had 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Kawehi Borden, Sumner basketball — Junior guard dropped game-high 19 points (14 in the first quarter) of Wednesday’s 56-30 win over Rogers, adding 24 points in Monday’s loss to Bellevue in Federal Way.

Simone Brown, Kentridge basketball — Scored nine points, shot 50 percent from 3-point range, had five rebounds, six steals and two assists in win over Stadium on Tuesday.

Natalie Buchanan, Black Hills basketball — Junior guard had a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double in Tuesday’s win over Aberdeen, adding 18 points and nine rebounds in Thursday’s win over Shelton.

Shayla Cordis, North Thurston basketball — Senior guard dropped 36 points with 15 steals, eight rebounds, and six assists in Thursday’s win over Peninsula, adding 31 points and eight assists in Tuesday’s win over Bellarmine Prep.

Sierra Cordis, North Thurston basketball — Junior guard had a 17-point, 14-steal double-double with six assists in Thursday’s win over Peninsula, adding 10 points and five assists in Tuesday’s win over Bellarmine Prep.

Logan Girias, Enumclaw basketball — Sophomore guard had 26 points, seven rebounds, and five steals in Tuesday’s win over Decatur.

Emi HansonSmith, Peninsula basketball — Freshman posted a double-double with 13 points, 19 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks in 51-36 win over Central Kitsap on Tuesday.

Andralynne Harless, Clover Park basketball — Senior forward scored 19 points in loss to Steilacoom on Tuesday.

Ehmarii McChristian, Lakes basketball — Junior guard had 18 points and five steals in Tuesday’s win over Silas, adding 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in Thursday’s win over Capital.

Bailey Nettleton, Tahoma basketball — Scored 21 points, had four assists and seven steals in win over Mount Rainier on Tuesday.

Mia Nielsen, Capital basketball — Senior guard posted a 41-point, 12-steal double-double with six assists in Tuesday’s win over Mount Tahoma and scored 10 points in loss to Lakes on Thursday.

Brandi Stanford, River Ridge basketball — Scored 12 points, had four rebounds, three assists and two steals in loss to Seattle Prep on Monday and scored 18 points with six rebounds, five assists and five steals in win over Timberline on Thursday.

Alena Ton, Kentwood basketball — Scored 11 points, shooting 100 percent from the field in 47-38 win over Auburn Riverside on Tuesday.

Tyler Venable, Black Hills basketball — Junior guard had 22 points, three rebounds, and three assists in Tuesday’s win over Aberdeen, adding 18 points, eight rebounds, seven steals, and six assists in Thursday’s win over Shelton.

Brooklyn Whittington, Cascade Christian basketball — Junior guard scored 23 points, including three 3-pointers, had five assists and two steals in win over Life Christian on Tuesday and scored 22 points with four assists and two steals in win over Seattle Christian on Thursday.
