Winner of The News Tribune’s Boys Athlete of the Week (Jan. 26 to 31)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Boys Athlete of the Week for contests played between Jan. 26-31. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver, Silas basketball

The senior guard had 22 points, four rebounds, and three steals in Wednesday’s loss to Gig Harbor, adding 16 points and four rebounds in Friday’s win over Central Kitsap.

Jordan Bennett, Emerald Ridge basketball — Senior guard hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 9.9 seconds remaining, then delivered the game-sealing block before the horn in Tuesday’s 54-53 win at Puyallup. Bennett finished with 12 points.

Payton Brown, Muckleshoot Tribal basketball — Junior guard posted a 17-point, 10-assist double-double with four steals and two rebounds in Monday’s win over Northwest Christian.

Trey Collier, Silas basketball — Junior guard had 19 points, four assists, and three rebounds in Friday’s win over Central Kitsap, adding 18 points and two assists in Wednesday’s loss to Gig Harbor.

Hakeen Collins, Franklin Pierce basketball — Senior wing had 23 points in Tuesday’s win over Orting.

Arcadius Cruz, Orting wrestling — Sophomore 126-pounder defeated Tahoma’s Brycen Dawley via fall (3:39) in Thursday’s dual meet at Orting High School.

Mason Emil, Mount Rainier basketball — Junior wing had 33 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in Friday’s win over Stadium, adding 30 points and seven rebounds in Monday’s loss to Kentwood.

Max Greene, Evergreen Lutheran basketball — Eagles junior had 30 points, five rebounds, and four assists in Monday’s win over Auburn Adventist.

Daniel Johnson, Auburn basketball — Senior guard had 25 points in Monday’s win over Stadium.

Owen Marshall, Tahoma wrestling — Junior 132-pounder defeated Orting’s Trevor Anderson via 6-3 decision in Thursday’s dual meet at Orting High School.

Michael Masini, Gig Harbor basketball — Senior forward posted a 24-point, 17-rebound double-double (11-15 FT) with five assists, a steal, and a block in Wednesday’s win over Silas.

Will Nasinec, Puyallup basketball — Senior wing dropped a game-high 24 points in Tuesday’s loss to Emerald Ridge, adding 15 points in Thursday’s win over Rogers.

MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver, Silas basketball — Senior guard had 22 points, four rebounds, and three steals in Wednesday’s loss to Gig Harbor, adding 16 points and four rebounds in Friday’s win over Central Kitsap.

Kolven Posey, Auburn Mountainview basketball — Senior guard dropped a season-high 44 points with seven assists in Friday’s win over Decatur, adding 37 points and four assists in Tuesday’s win over Federal Way.

Kade Price, Bellarmine Prep basketball — Junior guard paced the Lions with 17 points in Wednesday’s win over Lincoln.

Marshall Scott, Clover Park basketball — Senior guard dropped a career-high 54 points with 14 rebounds and four blocks in Friday’s win over Washington, adding a 30-point, 12-rebound double-double with six assists and five steals in Tuesday’s win over Fife.

Davion Shareef-Dulaney, Lincoln basketball — Sophomore guard dropped a career-high 42 points with 22 rebounds in Friday’s win over rival Mount Tahoma.

Zion Stone, Kennedy Catholic basketball — Junior guard had 34 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals in Friday’s win over Kentwood.

Brandon Tagle, Kentwood basketball — Senior guard scored 35 points with nine rebounds, eight assists, three steals, and two blocks in Monday’s win over Mount Rainier.

Ronnie Wiggins, Bellarmine Prep basketball — Junior guard had 16 points in Wednesday’s win over Lincoln.
