Day 2: Top performers from 4A, 3A girls basketball tournaments at Tacoma Dome

Day 2 (quarterfinals) of the 3A and 4A high school girls basketball state tournaments on Thursday at the Tacoma Dome is in the books. Here are the results and five players from each session who stood out.

No. 11 Kennedy Catholic 65, No. 5 Gonzaga Prep 52

No. 1 Davis 76, No. 10 Lake Stevens 56

No. 6 Lake Washington 55, No. 4 Woodinville 50

No. 8 Sumner 58, No. 2 Union 53

FAB FIVE

Jayden Fitzgerald, Kennedy Catholic — Maybe the player of the tournament so far, Fitzgerald poured in a game-high 32 points with five rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots and four steals.

Isa Garcia, Davis — Guard was as efficient as they come, scoring a game-high 24 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 4-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc. Had seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Cheyenne Hull, Davis — Had a no-doubt double-double with 22 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists and six steals in win over Lake Stevens.

Kawehi Borden, Sumner — Made difficult and clutch shots all game in Sumner’s upset of No. 2 Union, scoring a team-high 27 points with nine rebounds, an assist and two steals.

Brooklyn Haywood, Union — Certainly couldn’t ask much more of this guard and all-time Union great, who poured in a game-high 32 points in loss to Sumner.

QUOTABLE

Kennedy Catholic guard Jayden Fitzgerald on advancing to the semis as a No. 11 seed: “It doesn’t mean anything to us. We expected to be in this spot.”

CLASS 3A GIRLS

No. 4 Roosevelt 49, No. 11 Lakeside 41

No. 1 Bellevue 56, No. 7 Evergreen 46

No. 6 Eastside Catholic 59, No. 12 White River 40

No. 2 Snohomish 41, No. 9 Stanwood 36 (OT)

FAB FIVE

Maggee Schmitz, White River — Scored 18 points, had four rebounds and two blocked shots in loss to Eastside Catholic.

Sienna Capelli, Snohomish — Accounted for the vast majority of Snohomish’s points in its overtime win over Stanwood, scoring 30 of the team’s 41 points. Had a double-double with 30 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots and two steals.

Giselle Dollar, Roosevelt — Scored a game-high 15 points with nine rebounds, four assists and three steals in win over Lakeside.

Iyla Jones, Bellevue — Wing scored a team-high 12 points with a pair of rebounds in win over Evergreen.

Kimora Ross, Evergreen — Scored a game-high 16 points with three rebounds, an assist and three steals in loss to Bellevue.
