Vote now for The News Tribune’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for contests played between April 27-May 2. Voting will remain open until noon Thursday.

The poll is located below. You can read about all of the candidates and their accomplishments below.

Email reporter Jon Manley (jon.manley@thenewstribune.com) or Tyler Wicke (twicke@thenewstribune.com) or send a direct message on Twitter/X (@manley_tnt or @WickeTyler) with the athlete’s first and last name, school, year, position and a stat line from game(s) during the past week. Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sunday.

Abraham Cooper, Stadium — Junior striker had one goal and one assist in Friday’s 4-3 win over Auburn Riverside, adding both assists in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Mount Rainier.

Jesus Cruz, Clover Park — Junior forward scored two goals with an assist in Monday’s 4-2 win over Eatonville.

Tanner Fricke, Capital — Senior forward scored two goals with two assists in Thursday’s 6-2 win over Peninsula, adding Capital’s only goal in a 4-1 loss to Silas.

Eli Hodson, Curtis — Sophomore forward had one goal and one assist in Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Graham-Kapowsin.

Fisher Jarzynka, Stadium — Junior forward had two goals in Friday’s 4-3 win over Auburn Riverside.

Alex Leyva, Curtis — Junior midfielder had one goal and one assist in Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Graham-Kapowsin.

Kameron McClaskey, Kennedy Catholic — Had a goal and assist in 3-0 win against Auburn Riverside and scored both goals in 2-0 win over Kentridge.

Nery Ruiz, Enumclaw — Junior forward tallied four goals with an assist in Tuesday’s 7-1 win over Thomas Jefferson, then scored two goals in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Kentlake.

Zane Wirkkala, Enumclaw — Senior midfielder scored two goals in Tuesday’s win over Thomas Jefferson, adding a goal in Wednesday’s win over Kentlake.
