Vote now for The News Tribune’s Softball Athlete of the Week for contests played between May 11-16. Voting will remain open until noon Thursday.

Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sunday.

Gigi Bell, Bonney Lake — Freshman delivered two home runs and threw six solid innings (4 ER, 5 K) to help punch Bonney Lake’s Class 4A state ticket in Saturday’s win over Auburn Riverside.

Payton Cantrell, Gig Harbor — Senior catcher hit for the cycle (single, double, triple, home run) and went 5-for-5 with six RBI in Friday’s district win over Thomas Jefferson.

Sarah Cody, Gig Harbor — Leadoff right fielder went 5-for-6 with a double, six runs and three RBI in Friday’s district win over Thomas Jefferson.

Hi’ilei Gomes, Kentlake — Junior catcher went 1-for-1 with a home run, five walks, two runs and three RBI in Saturday’s district win over Silas.

Nevaeh Haagen, Timberline — Junior pitcher threw four shutout innings (1 H, 7 K) and hit two triples (3-for-4, 2 RBI) in Monday’s 9-3 win over Aberdeen. Haagen added a home run (2-for-2, 2 RBI, BB) in Friday’s district win over Auburn Mountainview and went 3-for-5 in Saturday’s district semifinal win over Central Kitsap.

Lila Heigh, Auburn Mountainview — Lions center fielder hit a grand slam (1-for-3, 4 RBI) in Friday’s district win over Silas.

Abby Hoyt, Peninsula — Freshman pitcher threw a complete game (7 IP, 4 ER) that lifted Peninsula to the 3A District 3 title over Timberline on Saturday, 9-5. In Friday’s district win over Kentlake, Hoyt hit two home runs and went 4-for-4 with seven RBI.

Anna Iovino, Bonney Lake — Freshman third baseman hit a two-run home run and doubled in Tuesday’s win over Auburn Mountainview, going 4-for-5 with four runs and five RBI. Iovino homered again (2-for-4, 4 RBI) in a district win over Sumner and went 3-for-4 with three RBI to punch Bonney Lake’s Class 4A state ticket over Auburn Riverside on Saturday, 19-7.

Jaycee Kemp, Puyallup — Freshman pitcher struck out 17 across a complete game in Saturday’s district win over Union. Kemp added five strong innings (1 ER, 10 K) to secure Puyallup’s Class 4A state berth in Saturday’s win over Auburn Riverside.

Ava Lim, Enumclaw — Hornets shortstop guided Enumclaw to a Class 3A state berth, going 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday’s win over Auburn Mountainview. Lim added a home run and four RBI in Friday’s win over North Thurston.

Riley Linnane, Kentlake — The sophomore’s game-tying, two-run double in the seventh inning powered Kentlake’s comeback district win over Bellarmine Prep, 10-9, on Friday. Linnane went 4-for-4 with a walk and four RBI, adding six strikeouts in the circle (5 IP). Linnane went on to record a walk-off walk in Saturday’s district win over Silas.

Brynnli Mayr, Timberline — Freshman first baseman hit two home runs (2-for-4, 4 RBI) in Saturday’s district semifinal win over Central Kitsap, adding a triple and team-high four RBI in Friday’s district win over Auburn Mountainview.

Ava McCall, Orting — Junior pitcher threw a complete game (6 IP, 3 ER) and went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Friday’s district win over Sequim.

Izzy Michaels, Peninsula — Seahawks first baseman homered and went 4-for-4 with a walk and three RBI in Friday’s district win over Kentlake.

Sierra Murray, Rogers — In two district wins, the sophomore right-hander threw 10 combined scoreless innings with three walks and 16 strikeouts.

McKenna Peterson, Peninsula — Sophomore center fielder went 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI that powered Peninsula to the 3A District 3 title on Saturday.

Brooklyn Pettit, Graham-Kapowsin — Sophomore pitcher hit two home runs and struck out 10 across four shutout innings in Tuesday’s win over Orting, threw three scoreless frames (7 K) in Saturday’s win over Kennedy Catholic, then recorded her third no-hitter of the season (7 IP, 0 H, 2 BB, 14 K) that punched Graham-Kapowsin’s Class 4A state ticket in Saturday’s win over Bonney Lake.

Aubree Pollard, Rogers — Junior catcher homered and tripled in Friday’s district win over Kentridge, going 2-for-3 with five RBI. Pollard added a double (2-for-4, 2 RBI), helping secure a Class 4A state berth in Saturday’s win over Skyview.

Hannah Potter, Auburn Riverside — Senior catcher homered and doubled (2-for-4, RBI) in Saturday’s district win over Camas.

Alexa Ramirez, Tahoma — Junior right-hander punched Tahoma’s ticket to state with 14 strikeouts across a complete game (2 ER) in Saturday’s 6-2 win over Yelm.
