Vote now for The News Tribune’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for contests played between May 11-16. Voting will remain open until noon Thursday.

The poll is located below. You can read about all of the candidates and their accomplishments below.

Email reporter Jon Manley (jon.manley@thenewstribune.com) or Tyler Wicke (twicke@thenewstribune.com) or send a direct message on Twitter/X (@manley_tnt or @WickeTyler) with the athlete’s first and last name, school, year, position and a stat line from game(s) during the past week. Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sunday.

Miles Ford, Steilacoom — The sophomore forward’s goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Port Angeles clinched a 2A state berth. Ford added a goal in Tuesday’s district loss to Franklin Pierce with an assist in Thursday’s district win over Washington.

Eli Hanson, Gig Harbor — Scored two of the team’s three goals and assisted the other in 3-2 win over Auburn Mountainview in 3A District 3 tournament semifinals on Thursday. In the championship game against top-ranked Silas, scored a goal to help deliver a 2-1 upset win for the Tides and capture the district title.

Fisher Jarzynka, Stadium — Junior forward scored two goals that lifted Stadium to the district title over Sumner on Thursday, 3-0.

Alex Leyva, Curtis — Junior midfielder tallied one goal and one assist in Tuesday’s 2-1 district win over Tahoma.

Jack Luxenberg, Stadium — The senior midfielder’s goal powered Stadium’s 1-0 win over Skyview in the district semifinals on Tuesday.

Pablo Ortiz Ensastegui, Clover Park — The sophomore’s goal in Thursday’s 1-0 district win over North Kitsap kept Clover Park’s season alive, later securing a Class 2A state berth.

Israel Torres, Clover Park — Freshman had one goal and one assist, helping Clover Park clinch a 2A state berth in Saturday’s 4-1 district win over Franklin Pierce.
