Vote now for The News Tribune’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for contests played between May 25-30. Voting will remain open until noon Thursday.

The poll is located below. You can read about all of the candidates and their accomplishments below.

Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sunday.

Bergen Eriksson, Sumner — The junior’s game-winning penalty kick lifted Sumner over Newport, 2-1, in Friday’s Class 4A state semifinals. Sumner’s runner-up tournament finish marked the best in program history.

Gannon Vanderhoof, Sumner — The senior’s header in the second half carried the Spartans to a victorious shootout over Newport, 2-1, in Friday’s Class 4A state semifinals. Sumner’s runner-up tournament finish marked the best in program history.

Aiden Vannoy, Sumner — Senior scored Sumner’s lone goal (88th minute) in Saturday’s Class 4A state championship loss to Eastmont. The Spartans’ runner-up tournament finish marked the best in program history.
