Prep roundup: Early goals hold up in Auburn Riverside’s 2-0 win over Stadium

The Auburn Riverside High School girls soccer scored early and never let up in a 2-0 win Friday against Stadium.

Talia Samuelson found McKenna Boulet for a goal in the fifth minute to give the Ravens their first goal. Victoria Kendall fed the ball to Taylor Smith for another goal four minutes later.

On the other side of the pitch, Auburn Riverside keeper Katelyn Brown earned the shutout.

Charles Wright Academy 3, Franklin Pierce 1: A first half Tarriers onslaught was too much for the Cardinals.

Charles Wright scored three goals in the first 20 minutes of the match, including a pair from Kristin Spaur.

The lone goal for Franklin Pierce came from Ali Cunningham at the 70th minute.


The White River High School boys golf team defeated both Washington and Franklin Pierce at Enumclaw Golf Course.

Cooper Franklin of White River led his team in the three way battle after finishing the day shooting even-par 35, earning medalist honors.

Franklin Pierce 4, Steilacoom 1: The Franklin Pierce High School boys tennis team secured the road victory against Steilacoom High School by defeating them 4-1.

In all four won matches, Franklin Pierce never allowed their opponents to win more than two games in the set.


White River High School had no trouble on the links on a day as its girls golf team defeated Fife, 77-16.

Sydnee Scott, the medalist on the day, shot 8-over-par 44 at Enumclaw Golf Course.


The Foss High School volleyball team survived a test from Clover Park High School by sweeping the Warriors, 25-18, 25-23, 26-24.

Angela Stanback led the way for Foss with four aces and 11 kills, and Patricia Stahlnecker had two aces, eight assists and three kills.

Fife 3, Decatur 0: The Trojans cruised past the Golden Gators, 25-6, 25-16, 25-13.

Maddie Licari led Fife with six kills and four digs.
