Prep volleyball roundup: Foss’ Alanna Bates-Carector lifts Mount Tahoma over Foss

Alanna Bates-Carector did it all for Mount Tahoma as its volleyball team swept Foss, 25-18, 25-21, 25-20, on Monday for its first win of the season.

Bates-Carector led the Thunderbirds (1-1) with five aces, 11 assists and was 16-17 serving, while teammate Zyonna Fellows added four kills and four blocks.  Cilicia White had seven digs.

Patricia Stahlnecker led her team with five aces, seven assists and two kills for Foss (1-3) in the 3A Narrows League loss.

Kentridge 3, Mount Rainier 1: The Chargers earned a 25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 25-11 victory over the Rams on the road.

McKenzie Fujimoto led Kentridge with three aces and 23 assists.

Todd Beamer 3, Federal Way 1: Camryn Skari had 24 kills to lead the Titans to a 25-22, 25-33, 15-25, 25-23 victory over the visiting Eagles.

Mallorie Post added nine kills and four blocks for Todd Beamer. Federal Way fought back to win the third set in the close contest, thanks to McKenna Milholland’s 48 assists and Leena McKinzie’s 28 digs, but wasn’t able to force a fifth game.

Central Kitsap 3, Capital 1: The Cougars of Central Kitsap rallied to defeat the Cougars of Capital, 19-25, 25-22, 25-11, 25-16.

Hali Ehresmann led Capital with 11 kills.

Cascade Christian 3, Life Christian 0: The Cougars sailed to a 25-15, 25-23, 25-9 victory over the Eagles.

Carly Sundt had five aces and 11 digs; Dani Tang had 11 kills, seven digs, and two blocks; and Hannah Carlisle had 23 assists in the Cascade Christian victory.
