Prep volleyball: Abbie Jackson’s 38 kills lift Charles Wright to five-set victory
Abbie Jackson put the hammer down.
Jackson had 38 kills and led the Charles Wright volleyball team to a 25-18, 24-26, 29-27, 18-25, 19-17 victory over Overlake on Wednesday.
That was more kills than Jackson had recorded in her previous two matches combined. She had 10 kills in a season-opening sweep of University Prep and 16 in a sweep of Tacoma Baptist.
Lauren Meadowcroft set her up, recording 37 assists and six service aces. Kaylee Kim added nine kills for the Tarriers.
Todd Beamer 3, Mount Rainier 0: Mallorie Post had six kills, three aces and 17 digs for the Titans in their 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 4A SPSL Northwest victory.
Kentridge 3, Thomas Jefferson 0: Loryn Timian led the Chargers with five aces, six kills and four digs in the 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 win over the Raiders.
Lincoln 3, Mount Tahoma 0: The Abes got off to a furious start on their way to a 25-12, 25-14, 25-20 sweep of the Thunderbirds.
Zyonna Fellows led Mount Tahoma with six kills and three blocks with Alanna Bates-Carector recording eight assists.
North Thurston 3, Capital 0: The Rams took the victory in three difficult sets 26-24, 25-17, 27-25.
Alex Porter led North Thurston with 14 kills, 2 blocks, and went 13-for-13 serving with two aces.
