Soccer roundup: Skyline hands Puyallup its first loss in 1-0 nonleague victory

Emma Rohlader goal on Lindsey Fujiwara’s assist in the 40th minute was all that was needed for the Skyline High School girls soccer team to hand Puyallup its first loss of the season Thursday.

Splitting the shutout for the Spartans was Anna Smith and Molly Monroe.

Curtis 7, Spanaway Lake 0: Jamie Steckler scored three goals and Morgan Weaver added two as the Vikings cruised to the win.

Taylor Currin started the scoring with a goal in the fourth minute and Brooke Webber added another nine minutes later.

Curtis (4-1-0; 2-0-0 4A SPSL South) goalkeepers Grace Collins and Olivia Engle shared the shutout. Spanaway Lake fell to 0-6-0.

Emerald Ridge 3, Graham-Kapowsin 0: Karlee Stueckle recorded a hat trick and goalkeepers Michaela Mitchell and Nina Lemanu shared the shutout in the Jaguars’ win.

Stuckle started the scoring in the ninth minute, then added goals in the 39th and 52nd minutes.

Bellarmine Prep 2, Yelm 0: The Lions earned the road win with goals scored by Elena Maes in the second minute and Emily Walsh in the 67th. 

Bellarmine Prep goalkeepers Isabelle Davis and Emma Leith shared the shutout.

Gig Harbor 5, Olympia 1: Kaysie Bruce scored two goals as the Tides jumped out to a 4-0 lead on their way to the 4A Narrows League victory – their second consecutive league win under first-year coach and current Seattle Reign FC defender Stephanie Cox.

Capital 5, Shelton 0: Madison Midstokke and Rachel Wofford each scored two goals in the Cougars’ shutout victory in the 3A Narrows League match.

North Thurston 8, Foss 0: Savanah Hakes scored in the third minute, then again in the 15th as the Rams cruised to the 3A Narrows victory.

Auburn Riverside 3, Peninsula 0: Cierra Enlow scored two goals and Izzy Creighton added a goal and an assist in the Ravens’ 3A SPSL victory.

Sumner 3, Enumclaw 0: The Spartans got goals from Megan McDonals, Luxee Cardin and Jaylin Borden in the 3A SPSL victory.

Bonney Lake 4, Vashon 0: Allie Kober scored two goals as the Panthers cruised to the nonleague victory.

White River 2, Fife 1: Despite Kaitlyn Evans’ goal in the sixth minute for the Trojans, the Hornets stormed back with goals from Mack Breeden and Annabelle Hall to secure the 2A SPSL home win.

Breeden scored on an assist from Annabelle Hall in the 30th minute to tie the match before Hall scored the game winner in the 71st on an assist from Chloe Narolski.

Franklin Pierce 3, Orting 1: Vanessa Shelton’s hat trick lifted the Cardinals to the 2A SPSL win, scoring goals in the the 42nd, 63rd and 81st minutes of the match.

That after Orting took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute on Alliyah Rodarte’s goal.

Steilacoom 6, Washington 0: Tori Crawford scored two goals and the Sentinels got scoring from four other players in the 2A SPSL victory.

BOYS SOCCER

Riley Bryne scored the game-winning goal in the 67th minute to lift the Tacoma Baptist boys soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Puget Sound Adventist on Thursday.

An early goal by Ryan Riley gave Tacoma Baptist the lead, only to see the match tied up from a Puget Sound Adventist goal in the 39th minute.

The Crusaders were able to pull off the victory from Bryne’s goal from a Jeffery Solis assist in the 67th minute.
