Prep boys tennis: Jefferson edges Federal Way behind doubles teams, 3-2

A withdrawal in the No. 2 singles match was all that separated Thomas Jefferson High School and Federal Way in a boys tennis match on Friday.

Jefferson won outright the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches to go with it on its way to the 3-2 victory.

Federal Way’s Jared Seo rallied to win the No. 1 singles match, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

Edward Park and Martin Lim secured the Raiders’ victory with 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 victory over Bryle Villanueva and Clarence Arenas.

Todd Beamer 4, Decatur 1: Jake Kim and Taesan Nguyen each earned two-set victories as the Titans cruised to the win, only losing a three-set drag out in the final doubles match.

Stadium 3, Bellarmine 2: Callan Peterson set the winning tone for the Tigers by defeating the Matt Sullivan, 6-1, 6-1, in the top singles match.

Sumner 4, Lakes 1: The Spartans cruised to a road victory over the Lancers behind Zaylan Jacobson’s win in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, in the top singles match.

Auburn 4, Auburn Mountainview 1: Bryan Thornquist cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory for the Trojans in the top singles match and teammate Troy Preshun followed with a 6-0, 6-0 victory of his own in the second singles match.

River Ridge 3, Steilacoom 2: Winning the No.1 and No. 2 singles was not enough to lift the Sentinels over the Hornets.
