Prep cross country: Olivia Wolform’s top finish lifts Jefferson over Beamer

It was a tight finish for the Thomas Jefferson High School and Todd Beamer High School girls cross country teams at Celebration Park on Wednesday.

Olivia Wolform for the Raiders finished the race at 21 minutes and 51 seconds to help narrowly defeat the Titans with 25 points to Todd Beamer’s 31. Freshman teammate Ally Peterson was right behind her, finishing in 21:52.

Beamer’s Alyssa Odom took third at 22:06.

Wolfrom is coming off of a first-place finish in the Capital Invite on Sept. 12.

Emerald Ridge 15, Spanaway Lake 49: The Jaguars took home the victory behind an Emma Bates finish at 21:29.

Curtis 19, Rogers 40: Anna Wegner crossed the line for the Vikings at 20:02 to win the 5,000-meter race.

Enumclaw 15, Auburn 50: Hunter Storm finished in 19:59 seconds for first place for the Hornets with teammate Samantha Engebretsen behind her at 20:32.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Garrett Dahl of the Thomas Jefferson High School boys cross country team defeated Todd Beamer with 17 points to the Titans’ 45 at Celebration Park　on Wednesday.

Dahl finished the race at 18 minutes and 29 seconds to help lift the Raiders. His teammates, David Jaquish and Austin Miller, were less than a second behind him, blocking the path of Beamer’s Lorenzo Pickens (18:32).

It was Dahl’s second career first-place finish after also taking first in a dual-meet against Federal Way last year.

Emerald Ridge 19, Spanaway Lake 46: Lance Slichko won the race for the Jaguars in 17:04.

Curtis 27, Rogers 30: The Vikings came away with the victory behind Ben Jacot winning the 5,000-meter race at 17:44.

Enumclaw 24, Auburn 31: Teagan Elridge finished the 5,000-meter race at 17 minutes flat to lead the Hornets to victory.

Enumclaw nexts heads to the 42nd annual Stanford Invitational on Saturday.
