Prep roundup: Thomson, Tandecki lift Enumclaw to boys tennis win over Lakes
The Enumclaw High School Boys tennis team held on for the 4-1 win over Lakes on Wednesday.
Derek Thomson and Easton Tandecki led the Hornets, cruising to match wins over the Lancers. Thomsen won the No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-2, and Tandecki took the second singles match, 6-0, 6-3.
Clover Park 3, Steilacoom 2: The Warriors survived a home test as Jerrick Pulido and Arturo Vega swept the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches.
Pulido won 6-2, 6-0 over Devan Woodrow and Vega won 6-0, 6-0 over Des Inglis.
Washington 4, Franklin Pierce 1: Despite Derrek Pettit and Kyoung So's 7-5, 6-1 match win for the Cardinals, the Patriots were too much to handle.
Washington’s Isiah Salas won the top singles match, 6-3, 6-1, over Cole Withers.
Fife 4, River Ridge 1: Chay Racamora and Kyle Roscoe were prevailing factors for the Trojans' victory over the Hawks, each winning in two sets in their singles matches.
BOYS WATER POLO
Jonathon Bolte scored six goals to lead the Kentridge High School boys water polo team to a 19-7 victory against Enumclaw High School on Wednesday.
Joining Bolte was Josh Lee, Tyler Lantz and Nick Hass, each scoring two goals to ensure the Chargers’ victory.
GIRLS GOLF
The Bonney Lake High School girls golf team defeated Auburn 29-18 at High Cedars Golf Course on Wednesday.
Hayden Zumhofe earned the medalist honors for the Panthers, shooting a 7-over-par 43.
Graham-Kapowsin 70, Puyallup 54: Kaitlin Garinger shot a 10-over-par 46 to earn medalist honors in the Eagles' victory over the Vikings.
