Play call of the week: North Thurston’s Isaiah Loucks sets up game-tying TD
NORTH THURSTON 14, WILSON 13
Play: Jordan-7
Set: Gun Trips Right
Down and distance: Third-and-14 from the Wilson 20
Time remaining: 1:35 in fourth quarter
Score at the time: Wilson 13, North Thurston 7
What happened: Rams receiver Isaiah Loucks ran a wheel route from the slot up the right sideline and Jake Harn’s pass hit him in stride between two defenders for a 19-yard pass to the Wilson 1 with time winding down. That set up Zion Kirk’s game-tying TD run two plays later and Wesley Krall’s go-ahead PAT for North Thurston’s second win. But Loucks’ catch came at a hefty price, suffering a potentially season-ending ankle injury on the play. That came after North Thurston had ran the same play earlier on that final drive that Loucks hauled in along the left sideline for a 51-yard completion. It’s a play Wilson coach Don Clegg said they had practiced specifically against all week prior to the game.
Great Win for NT Rams tonight. Such a gritty performance by our team. Loved the effort for 4 quarters. Special Teams & Backups were BIG!
