Prep volleyball: Bellarmine Prep bounces back with sweep of Stadium
The Bellarmine Prep volleyball team swept visiting Stadium, 25-13, 25-22, 25-17, on Tuesday.
Lions senior Megan Jacobsen had 17 kills and sophomore Addy Woolery helped out defensively with 20 digs.
Bellarmine Prep (6-1, 4-0 4A Narrows) had a dominant performance after losing a close nonleague match West Valley (Yakima), 3-2, on Friday and a loss to Curtis in the Kent Classic on Saturday.
The Lions look to capitalize on Tuesday's shut out and take some of that energy into their next match, on the road Thursday against Yelm.
Gig Harbor 3, South Kitsap 1: Lauren Hatfield of Gig Harbor finished the game with 22 kills and 17 digs as the Tides (3-3, 3-2 4A Narrows) defeat conference opponent South Kitsap (3-5, 2-3 4A Narrows) in 4 games.
Timberline 3, Olympia 1: Julianna Salanoa had 19 kills, three blocks, and five digs for the Blazers in their 25-15, 13-25, 25-15, 25-15 victory.
Timberline’s Natalie Stark also had 29 assists, two aces, and 11 digs for the Blazers (4-2, 4-1 4A Narrows).
Orting 3, Washington 0: Kea Kahala had nine kills and 12 digs as the Cardinals (3-2 2A SPSL) beat the Patriots (1-4 2A SPSL), 25-11, 26-24, 25-16.
Orting’s Taylor Cooley added eight assists.
Franklin Pierce 3, Clover Park 0: Lauren Baker’s 12 kills and seven assists lifted the Cardinals to the 25-10, 25-12, 25-20 victory.
Abby Samons helped out with 16 assists and Emalee Quintana added seven kills and 14 digs for Franklin Pierce (6-0; 5-0 2A SPSL).
White River 3, Fife 0: The Hornets won their sixth consecutive match to start the season with a 25-12, 25-15, 26-24 victory over the Trojans.
The Hornets (6-0; 5-0 2A SPSL) had a balanced attack, with Emily Kunst recording 10 kills and Taylor Keating nine. Mahaealini Stone had 34 assists, Kelsey Williams had 13 digs and nine kills and Megan Vandegrift added 10 digs.
Steilacoom 3, River Ridge 0: Mahea Ling-Oleole had six kills, four aces, six digs and 23 assists as the Sentinels cruised to the 25-8, 25-10, 25-12 victory over the Hawks.
Nadia Albert had 11 digs and three aces, Sophia Spoja added 11 digs and five kills and Kendall Fox had eight digs and 11 kills for Steilacoom (4-2; 3-2 2A SPSL).
Tumwater 3, Kelso 0: Maddy Pilon helped in a big offensive night for the Thunderbirds with 49 assists and Kennedy Croft added 24 kills, nine digs, and six aces in the 25-14, 25-11, 25-20 win.
Life Christian 3, Rainier 0: Christine Armstrong had 12 kills in the Eagles’ 25-20, 25-15, 25-22 victory.
Alyssa Donaldson had 15 assists and Kaitlyn Konsmo had six aces and 13 digs.
