Prep volleyball: Julianna Salanoa leads Timberline rally past Gig Harbor, 3-2
The Timberline High School volleyball team rallied to take the match against Gig Harbor High School in five sets Thursday despite the Tides coming to within a set of winning.
Julianna Salanoa led the Blazers comeback with 26 kills, three aces, six blocks and 12 digs; while Natalie Stark finished with 32 assists, two kills, three aces and 15 digs in Timberline’s 17-25, 26-24, 18-25, 25-16, 15-11 victory.
The Blazers improved to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in 4A Narrows League play while Gig Harbor (3-4; 3-3) suffered its second loss in two matches.
Olympia 3, South Kitsap 0: Lauren Wilson had 16 blocks and Julia Fleener added 30 assists and eight digs to lift the Bears to the 25-17, 25-4, 25-18 victory.
North Thurston 3, Wilson 0: Clarissa Jenkins led North Thurston with seven kills and one ace, while Alex Porter had four aces.
Olivia Fairchild added four blocks and five kills and Morgan Stroud had 15 digs as North Thurston (7-0 3A Narrows) cruised to the 25-10, 25-12, 25-10 victory.
Enumclaw 3, Bonney Lake 1: Barbie Becker had 14 kills, 18 digs and three aces to help lift the Hornets over the Panthers, 25-17, 25-12, 17-25, 25-17.
Victoria Hernandez added 24 digs and three aces for Enumclaw.

Taylor Keating had 16 kills and eight digs and the Hornets (7-0; 6-0 2A SPSL) took over the top spot in the league standings and handed the Cardinals their first loss of the season, 25-16, 24-26, 25-21, 25-23.
Franklin Pierce (6-1, 5-1) entered the day with the No. 10 ranking in the volleyball coaches association rankings.
White River’s Kelsey Williams added 10 digs and Mahealini Stone had 38 assists and five assists. Emily Kunst added 14 kills.
Franklin Pierce’s Lauren Baker had 12 kills and 11 assists, Malia Fakatoufifita had 33 digs and Abigail Samons added 15 assists and 10 digs.
