Wilson’s David Jenkins Jr. earns WIBCA player of the week; Updated coaches poll rankings
What a week for David Jenkins Jr.
The Wilson High School senior’s final line from the title game of the Tamanawis Holiday Invite in Surrey, British Columbia: 51 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, six steals.
Jenkins ended 2015 with the career-high point total and led Wilson to the 100-95 overtime win over Tamanawis. He was selected Monday as the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association’s player of the week.

Jenkins scored 30 points the first day of the tournament in a win over WJ Mouat of Abbotsford, B.C., was named the tournament’s most valuable player and surpassed 1,200 points for his high school career.

He is the second player from the South Sound to earn WIBCA player of the week honors this season. Bellarmine Prep’s Malachi Flynn was the first-week winner.
WIBCA also selected Lewis and Clark as its team of the week.
