Jefferson rejection tops TNT highlights of the week; Yelm’s Davis is area’s top scorer
TAYLOR’S BLOCK PARTY
Kentridge thought it had a layup.
Then there was Tarence Taylor.
The Thomas Jefferson senior chased down a fast break layup for his 27th block of the season – many coming of that chase-down variety. He blocked it so hard, it spiked off the backboard and almost reached the 3-point line before bouncing off the court.
The 6-foot-2 combo guard is averaging 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game for Jefferson and coach Kyle Templeton said he’s the team’s best defensive guard "and I think maybe the best defensive player in our league (the 4A SPSL Northwest)."
SHONI THE MONEY
Charles Wright’s Shoni Pritchett collected one of her 10 rebounds against Seattle Christian and decided she’d take it up herself.
She drove the floor, juked, used a behind-the-back dribble to get away from two defenders and then sank the elbow jumper for two of her game-high 27 points.
TEAM EFFORT
West Linn’s Payton Pritchard thought he had his sixth assist of the game.
Montre Brown-Lofton said "No."
Wilson’s senior forward blocked a shot at the basket and collected it himself. Then he hit David Jenkins Jr. up the sideline who lobbed it from the free-throw line for an alley-oop layup to Emmitt Matthews Jr.
