Clover Park’s game-winning 3-pointer earns TNT highlight of the week; Flynn, Knox lead South Sound in scoring
AUBURN RUNS WITH IT
Masar Hassoun had to travel nearly the length of the court, but got her layup off as time expired to lift the Auburn High School girls basketball team past Lakes, 41-39, in double overtime.
Lakes saved the ball from going out of bounds underneath its own basket, only the throw went right to Keilani Songcuan, who lobbed it ahead to Hassoun with wide open space in front of her. She sprinted ahead and got off a contested layup with about a second remaining as the clock ran out before Lakes could inbound it.
THUNDER LUKE
Life Christian’s Luke Lovelady continued his impressive season with a steal and one-handed authoritative dunk in the second quarter against Rainier. That gave the Eagles a 33-13 lead.
Lovelady has Life Christian off to an 18-2 start and it is 9-0 in 2B Pacific League play with two games remaining to try and finish its league season unbeaten.
WILLIAMS HITS GAME-WINNER
Davien Harris-Williams could have set up a little closer to that 3-point line.
But what could have been an NBA 3 turned to be the game-winning 3-pointer for Clover Park against Fife. The shot went through with two seconds remaining and the Warriors trailing Fife 59-58 at the time.
Clover Park trailed by 14 points at one point in the game.
