Kentlake tops Kamiak to earn trip to Tacoma Dome

Kentlake 42, Kamiak 34: The Falcons jumped out to leads of 13-2 and 22-9 and held on for a Class 4A state regional victory against the Knights at Everett Community College.

The Kentlake defense only allowed one field goal in the game’s first 12 1/2 minutes.

Sydney Peterson and Aniston Denckla each scored 12 points for Kentlake, while Jada Leonard added seven.

Central Valley 59, Rogers 30: Lexie Hull scored 22 points and the Bears used a big third quarter to blow out the Rams in a Class 4A state regional at University High School in Spokane.

Jessi Westering’s 11 points led Rogers, but Central Valley outscored the Puyallup school 31-12 in the third quarter.

Snohomish 53, Gig Harbor 40: Madeline Smith scored 12 of her 18 points in the second half to help the Panthers hold off the Tides in a Class 4A state regional at Everett Community College.

Snohomish heads back to the Tacoma Dome for the first time since 2009, when it played for a state title.

Freshman Brynna Maxwell scored 12 points in the first half to keep Gig Harbor in the game, but it wasn’t enough.

Class 2A

Mark Morris 65, Toppenish 55: The Monarchs ran away with the game during the fourth quarter. They outscored the Wildcats 23-13 to seal a spot at Yakima’s SunDome.

Four out of the six players for Mark Morris (16-8) posted double-digit scoring nights as Brooke Walling scored a team-high 18, Libby Bartleson had 14, and both Zsaleh Parvas and Alexis Troy scored 12.

The game was tied heading into the fourth, before the Wolves pulled away against the Yakima-area school.

Class 1B

Republic 86, Mount Rainier Lutheran 37: The Hawks season ended abruptly as they were routed by the Tigers.

Taylor Hoffman’s 15 points led Mount Rainier, who lost three games in a row to end its season. Republic outscored the Hawks 34-5 in the second half.

Tulalip Heritage 54, Mary M. Knight 42: The Hawks (23-1) relied on a 15-7 second quarter run to get them past the Owls. Adiya Jones scored a game-high 26 points.
