WIAA announces spring academic state champions
The Stadium High School baseball team earned the Class 4A academic state championship. And Enumclaw won 3A academic state titles in both girls track and field and girls tennis.
They were among the spring academic state championship selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association on Friday.
Winners from the South Sound included:
▪ Stadium’s 14 baseball players had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.471.
▪ Rogers’ boys golf team earned the 4A academic state title, with its six players accumulating a 3.751 GPA.
▪ Enumclaw’s girls track and field team earned the 3A academic state title, with its 25 athletes combining for a 3.886 GPA.
▪ Enumclaw’s eight-member girls tennis team won the 3A title with a GPA of 3.841.
▪ Black Hills’ girls track and field team won the 2A academic state championship. Its 12 athletes combined for a 3.76 GPA.
▪ Olympia won the 4A academic state title in boys soccer, with its 17 players combining for a 3.606 GPA.
