Boys: Northwest Christian’s runners performed admirably in the 1,600-meter event at the state championships. Although none placed in the top three, Luke Bredeson, Luke Schilter and Colton Busser all performed well enough to earn points for the team. Teammate Corban Phillips finished just 0.5 tenths of a second behind Busser.
Girls: Elaina Summers was just a few seconds away from the 2B 3,200-meter title at the state meet. Still, her second-place finish — in a strong time of 11:39.19 — earned Northwest Christian eight points.
In the 1B 3,200 meters, Faith Nitz placed well with a fourth-place showing. She finished in 13:32.07 to earn five points for Evergreen Lutheran.
