Mariners signs former Mets’ reliever to fill out 40-man roster
The Seattle Mariners claimed right-handed pitcher Chasen Bradford off waivers to round out their 40-man roster, team general manager Jerry Dipoto announced on Friday.
The New York Mets designated the 28-year-old for assignment on Wednesday. Bradford made his MLB debut last season and went 2-0 with a 3.74 ERA. The reliever was 1-1 with 11 saves and 4.04 ERA last season with Triple-A Las Vegas.
In seven seasons in the minors, Bradford is 28-20 with a 3.48 ERA. Bradford grew up and attended high school in Nevada. He played two years in for the College of Southern Nevada and another two for the University of Central Florida. He was drafted by the Mets in the 35th round in 2011.
