Jake Bobo hasn’t exactly been campaigning.

Yet it’s become a campaign.

“More Bobo!”

The locker-room saying of the Seahawks’ summer has become a rallying cry for many fans across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. They want to see Bobo, the undrafted rookie from UCLA and Duke, make Seattle’s roster for the regular season.

Even Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith said this month: “Everyone around here loves Bobo.”

The NFL deadline for teams to cut their 90-man rosters to 53 is 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Bobo said following his latest impressive preseason game, Saturday at Green Bay when he had an NFL co-leading second touchdown catch of the month, he’s noticed your buzzing.

“Really cool for me. Really cool for my family and friends to see some of that,” Bobo said at Lambeau Field. “I’m very grateful and honored to have some of the 12s jump on the ‘Bobo Bandwagon’ a little bit. So that’s been really cool to see.

“I’m honored that folks think I’m worthy of their praise. Just got to keep making plays.”

Still, he’s a rookie who wasn’t among 259 players selected in this year’s draft. He’s been saddled with a 4.99-second 40-yard dash from his UCLA pro day this spring. And Seattle has cut popular training-camp and preseason stars before.

Remember Troymaine Pope? Or Kasen Williams? Richard Sherman couldn’t believe that cut in 2017.

So there remains the question. It’s what one present to you in The News Tribune’s latest Seahawks reader poll.
