Details of Tyler Lockett, Jamal Adams, Tre Brown questionable for Seahawks at Rams

The Seahawks (6-3) have big names and key players listed as questionable to play the Los Angeles Rams (3-6) Sunday, because of injuries.
Lockett was watching the start of practice again Friday in sneakers instead of cleats and without his helmet. The leading wide receiver hasn’t practiced at all this week with the hamstring issue he’s been playing through for the last month. He’s only missed two games since 2018.
“He ran today...with the trainers,” coach Pete Carroll said. “We didn’t run him in practice. He will run again (Saturday).
“It’s day to day right now.”
Carroll and Lockett spent a few minutes talking as practice began on Thursday.
Adams has been on a pacing schedule for practices between games with knee soreness that doctors told him he would have coming back from a 13-month recovery following his torn quadriceps tendon.
“Just trying to take care of him, figure it out as we go,” Carroll said Friday.
Adams said he thinks it could be into the summer and fall of 2024 before he’s pain-free.
“I was kind of already told when I did tear my knee that it was going to be a year process as far as getting back out there, getting everything back as far as my explosion, cutting and whatnot,” he said, “not having the pain and dealing with the achiness on top of my knee cap.
“I was told that early on. The competitor in me, I was looking at the doctor saying, ‘Nah, I’m going to be all right.’ But he was damn sure.
“He was right. I’m dealing with it.”
Adams said he was particularly happy Geno Smith, DK Metcalf and the offense drove into position for Jason Myers to win Seattle’s game last weekend against Washington with his field goal on the final play of regulation. He preferred to not play overtime.
“My knee was barkin’,” he said after he played all 61 defensive snaps against the Commanders.
“I mean, when I’m on that field I’m going to figure it out. I’m going to try,” he said.
Brown has been the Seahawks’ left cornerback for about 75% of defensive snaps the last month and a half. That’s since starting left cornerback Devon Witherspoon also became the team’s primary nickel back inside against slot receivers. Seattle has been in nickel about three-fourths of the time this season, and typically are at least that much or more against coach Sean McVay’s varied Rams passing game.
Brown’s injury is new from practice Thursday. Carroll said the cornerback “jammed his foot on a play.”
The team listed him as a full participant in practice Wednesday with a toe issue. He was full go with no listing for the practice Thursday. Then Friday, the team listed him questionable for Sunday’s game with a foot injury.
“It’s just sore. It’s not injured, seriously,” Carroll said.
The coach said the team’s medical staff believes Brown will be able to play Sunday.
“It’s just kind of a race to get back right now,” Carroll said.
Abe Lucas practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday. He looked hobbled in the brief, beginning parts of those practices open to the media. The starting right tackle hasn’t played since week one against the Rams. This week the team designated him as returning to practice off injured reserve.
“We’re on the right track to get him back even more seriously next week,” Carroll said.
The Seahawks have just three days between the Rams game and a showdown with San Francisco in Seattle Thanksgiving night.
Stone Forsythe and 41-year-old Jason Peters appear likely to split time at right tackle on Sunday. Peters played so well against Washington Seahawks coaches left him in for about two-thirds of the snaps, his most play yet since signing with Seattle in mid-September.
For Peters to play Sunday, the Seahawks had to sign him to the 53-man roster by Saturday afternoon. They did that Friday, according to Peters’ representatives, Elite Loyalty Sports.
The former All-Pro and Super Bowl champion with Philadelphia had his NFL-maximum three elevations from the practice squad to play in games already.
Reserve wide receiver Dareke Young will not play Sunday. The 2022 draft choice is out again after he re-injured his abdomen in his return game from injured reserve last weekend against Washington.
