Julian Love, wife have their baby. Seahawks have their safety coming to play at Tennessee

Christmas came early for Julian Love, his family — and the Seahawks.

The NFC defensive player of the week and his high school-sweetheart wife Julia welcomed their new baby boy, Noah. He was born Friday. Love then boarded a plane to join his team in Nashville Saturday to start again at safety Sunday when Seattle (7-7) plays its latest must-win game, at Tennessee (10 a.m., channel 7).

A Seahawks spokesman confirmed Love’s status Saturday afternoon.

Love had stayed back in Seattle Friday awaiting the birth while the team flew to Nashville without him.

While $70 million safety Jamal Adams was inactive Monday night, Love intercepted Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts twice in the fourth quarter to seal Seattle’s comeback win over the Eagles. The victory revived the Seahawks’ season.

Love also had an interception and forced a fumble teammate Riq Woolen recovered in Seattle’s loss at San Francisco Dec. 10. Love has produced the Seahawks’ last four takeaways.

Adams remains out indefinitely as he grinds with knee pain.

Meanwhile, Love is flying high. And — as of Saturday — to Tennessee. As a new father.

Friday, Carroll had said Love likely would have missed the game against the Titans Sunday if his wife hadn’t delivered their baby by then.

“I would think so. Whatever he’s got to do,” the coach said. “Got to take care of his wife and family and all of that.”
