Seattle Seahawks

DK Metcalf, Abe Lucas full go to start for Seahawks at 49ers. But: A big issue at center

The Seahawks are getting back a couple of keys to making their offense go.

But what about the guy who starts it?

Top wide receiver DK Metcalf and starting right tackle Abe Lucas were not on the game injury list the Seahawks issued Friday. That indicates both are starting Sunday when Seattle (4-5) tries to end a six-game losing streak to the San Francisco 49ers (5-4) and get back into the NFC West race Sunday in Santa Clara, California (1:05 p.m., channel 13).

But center Connor Williams is out. The trigger snapper of Geno Smith’s offense will not play Sunday. Williams has been away from the team this week dealing with a personal issue.

Undrafted rookie Jalen Sundell from North Dakota State is poised to make his first NFL start Sunday. Olu Oluwatimi, the Seahawks’ draft choice from Michigan last year, is also in line behind Williams on the depth chart at center.

Lead tight end Noah Fant is out with a groin injury that did not improve through Seattle’s bye last week. Reserve tight end Brady Russell, a special-teams mainstay, is out with a foot injury.
