Not all leaving: Josh Jobe agrees to return to Seahawks’ champion secondary
They aren’t all leaving.
On a day the Seahawks lost two top starters to free agency, the Super Bowl champions are retaining one: Cornerback Josh Jobe agreed to return to Seattle on a new contract Monday, per multiple reports.
Jobe’s deal is for three years and $24 million, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported.
Jobe, who turns 28 next month, started 15 of 16 regular-season games and all three in the Seahawks’ postseason through Super Bowl 60 last month. It was his second season with Seattle. The team claimed him off waivers from Philadelphia at the end of the 2024 preseason.
Jobe allowed the fourth-lowest completion percentage in the NFL during the 2025 season, 47.7%. That was with a minimum of 50 passes targeted at him, per NFL NextGen Stats. Only Tampa Bay’s Jamel Dean, who agreed to a deal in free agency with Pittsburgh Monday, Philadelphia’s Quinyon Mitchell and New England’s Derek Stingley gave up a lower completion rate than Jobe.
Jobe allowed the fourth-fewest yards per target (5.4) among outside cornerbacks offenses targeted at least 50 times.
He was in a rotation this past season as an outside cornerback with Riq Woolen and Devon Witherspoon.
Witherspoon became a Pro Bowl selection for the third time in three seasons. He’s in line for a huge contract extension this summer entering the final year of his rookie deal.
Woolen entered free agency Monday, the start of the negotiating period. The market officially opens Wednesday.
If Woolen proves too expensive for Seattle to keep, the Seahawks are encouraged by Nehemiah Pritchett as he enters his third NFL season with the team. The 25-year-old cornerback was a fifth-round pick by Seattle in the 2024 draft. The 6-foot, 188-pound Pritchett teammates call “Mighty” played all 17 regular-season games in 2025, primarily on special teams. He played only 8% of defensive snaps with the surplus of starting-caliber cornerbacks in Witherspoon, Jobe and Woolen.
“Yeah, Nehemiah has grown a lot,” coach Mike Macdonald said two weeks ago at the league’s scouting combine. “And he’s gonna have a great opportunity to play great football for us and carve himself out (a) great role.
“So let’s keep rolling. You know, just keep attacking it...I’m excited about ‘Mighty.’”
Earlier Monday, Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker agreed to a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Seahawks safety Coby Bryant agreed to a three-year contract with the Chicago Bears.
