Score priority boarding with a Seattle Kraken jersey thanks to Alaska Airlines’ new promo

Krakens are typically associated with the seas, terrorizing pirates and dragging their boats to the bottom of the ocean. But Alaska Air is ready to take the Kraken to the skies, thanks to a new sponsorship deal with Seattle’s hockey team that shares the same name with the mythical beast.

Alaska Air announced on Wednesday that anyone flying out of Seattle-Tacoma International, Paine Field in Everett or Palm Springs International Airport in California while wearing a Seattle Kraken hockey jersey would score priority boarding on Alaska Air flights.

The promo also extends to those wearing a Coachella Valley Firebirds jersey, a new professional ice hockey team based in Palm Springs that competes in the American Hockey League. The Firebirds are owned by the Kraken, which competes in the National Hockey League.

Those with Kraken and Firebirds jerseys will jump the queue and be able to get comfy on the plane once group B has been seated.

“As the official airline of the Kraken, we can’t wait to see fans flood Climate Pledge Arena in our hometown, where our community and guests will get to enjoy the Alaska Airlines Atrium, which will serve as the main entrance for all events at the Climate Pledge Arena,” Alaska Air stated in the announcement.

The promo runs through the end of the 2022-23 NHL season. The regular season began on Oct. 12 and ends for the Kraken with a home game against the Vegas Golden Knights on April 13.
