Notes: Seattle heads southeast to face Orlando City on Sunday and the teams share a few striking similarities this season: Each freshly parted ways with its only coach since expansion and both teams are on the outside looking into the playoff picture. The Sounders fired Sigi Schmid on July 26 and Orlando did the same with Adrian Heath on July 6. In its first game post-Sigi, Seattle produced a point July 31 with a 1-1 home tie against LA. Cristian Roldan supplied the goal for Seattle in the first half. Sounders midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro, signed on July 15, made his MLS debut against the Galaxy and provided a new look to the midfield, leading the game in touches. … Orlando can jump into the playoff picture with a win over the Sounders and a New England Revolution loss. Cyle Larin has 11 goals and Kevin Molino has nine goals and seven assists on the season for OCSC. In its last game, City defeated the Revolution 3-1 at home.
Next: Seattle returns home to face Real Salt Lake August 14. In two matchups, one during MLS play and the other a US Open Cup game, Seattle is 1-1 against fifth-place RSL this season.
