Two Gig Harbor groceries to open first week of February
It’s time to sharpen those giant ceremonial scissors.
Come the beginning of February, it’s going to be an interesting week for Gig Harbor grocery shoppers.
That’s when Kroger will introduce its Main & Vine concept at the former QFC store. That’s also when Safeway will open in its former location following the departure of the Haggen store.
Sara Osborne, public affairs director for Albertsons and Safeway, confirmed Tuesday that officials have named Feb. 3 as the date for a ribbon cutting and a ceremony to welcome back former Safeway employees.
“We wanted to open it as soon as we could,” she said Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Main & Vine store manager Dann Kohl confirmed Tuesday that his operation will open “during the first week of February.”
