FedEx hiring more than 300 part-timers for Fife site
FedEx Ground is hiring more than 300 part-time package handlers for a Fife warehouse opening this summer.
Those looking for such work can attend an employment open house this week at the new 311,000-square-foot building. At the event, potential workers can meet the senior manager and attend a tour of the building.
The event will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the new warehouse, 3015 78th Ave., Fife. Those looking for the warehouse should note the address does not always show up in GPS programs.
Though workers won’t be hired on the spot, they will have an inside look at the new package handling facility and can have questions about the hiring process answered by a member of the human resources department, said FedEx spokewoman Nikki Mendicino.
The warehouse is slated for a June opening. Those hoping to work for FedEx must be over age 18 and cannot be attending high school.
Those hired for package handling can expect physical labor and a rough first week in the fast-paced world of package sorting, according to a promotional video about the job openings.
Potential package handlers must attend a short tour of a FedEx facility, which includes observing the package sorting process, before applying for a position. Pay starts at $12.05 per hour and depends on the shift.
