A single-alarm fire Sunday morning destroyed the Happy Teriyaki #4 restaurant in Lakewood, West Pierce Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Hallie McCurdy said.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at about 2:30 a.m. and found the building “fully engulfed” in flames, according to McCurdy.
The crew battled the fire for more than hour before declaring it under control at 3:45 a.m. The building, at 6007 100th St. SW, was a “total loss,” McCurdy said.
There were no injuries in the fire, which McCurdy said is believed to have originated in the kitchen area of the restaurant.
