Tacoma fire crews were dispatched to a commercial fire at the Port of Tacoma early Sunday morning, the port and a volunteer firefighter group announced on social media.

The Tacoma Fire Department could not immediately be reached.

The fire was reported about 6:30 a.m. at what appears to be a scrap metal business in the 2200 block of East River Street.

Crews remain on scene and residents are asked to avoid the area.
