Bonney Lake Police investigating man’s body found near city’s welcome sign

A man was found dead inside a tent Monday afternoon in Bonney Lake, police said.

A passing bicyclist reported the body around 2:17 p.m. in Ascent Park which is located just behind the “Bonney Lake Welcomes You” sign on state Route 410, according to Bonney Lake police spokesperson officer Allison Remski.

The park has no public access, according to the city’s website. Traffic was not affected by the ongoing investigation.

The man is believed to be 53 years old, Remski said

The tent is not part of an encampment, she said.
