Fire engulfs RV and spreads into yard outside Tacoma home. One cat found dead

A fire engulfed an RV outside of a Tacoma home early Friday morning.

Tacoma fire crews were dispatched at 2:12 a.m. to reports of a fire in the 1600 block of East 35th Street. The fire had spread through and engulfed the RV, according to Tacoma Fire on X.

The fire spread from the RV into debris in the yard. Firefighters extinguished the fire and left the scene at 4:50 a.m., Tacoma Fire spokeswoman Chelsea Shepherd said.

No people were injured, but a cat was found dead, she said. The RV belonged to the people who live in the home.

Since the RV burned up quickly and there was not a lot left to investigate, the cause of the fire is undetermined. Shepherd said that will be the official ruling unless someone comes forward with information about the cause.
