Fire badly damages commercial building in Summit area

Fire badly damaged a Summit-area business Monday.

The blaze broke out about 7:30 a.m. in the paint shop at Cascade Mill Works, 11403 58th Ave. E., Central Pierce Fire & Rescue reported.

The first arriving crews quickly upgraded the blaze to a two-alarm event and requested aid from other fire agencies.

No one was hurt, but damage to the business from the accidental fire was estimated at $1.5 million, Central Pierce Fire reported.
