Three people were forced from their home early Monday when the house they lived in suffered serious damage from a fire, according to the Valley Regional Fire Authority.

Crews were called about 1:40 a.m. to the home in the 1100 block of 26th Street Southeast and found a garage burning and flames quickly moving into the house.

Crews were able to knock down the fire before it spread farther into the home, but it still caused significant damage.

The residents escaped safely before firefighters arrived. One was treated for smoke inhalation.

A cause and estimate of damages had not been determined.
