Man killed in head-on crash near Kent
A man was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on crash near Kent, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses said a van traveling east on South 227th Street crossed the center line about 6 a.m. and hit a westbound car near West Valley Highway.
The van driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identified.
The other driver was taken to Auburn Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
At least one person reported the man in the van was driving erratically before the crash, sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindi West said.
South 277th Street from 55th Avenue South to West Valley Highway was closed for hours during the investigation.
