Puyallup driver injured in head-on crash with semitrailer in Roy
A 43-year-old Puyallup woman was hurt Wednesday after her car crossed into incoming traffic in Roy and hit a semitrailer head-on, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident took place about 3:25 p.m. as the woman traveled south on state Route 507 near Eighth Avenue South.
The truck driver was headed north.
Troopers said they were trying to determine why the woman’s car crossed the center line and struck the semitrailer. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be involved.
The truck ended up on the railroad tracks; the woman’s car blocked the roadway.
She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. Her condition was not immediately known.
The truck driver was not hurt.
Route 507 was closed for about 25 minutes while troopers investigated.
